Jackson Avenue Pedestrian Signal & Roadway Improvements
Lochmueller Group (Lochgroup) designed and provided construction engineering for the replacement of a pedestrian signal, improvements to deficient sidewalk and curb ramp facilities, and resurfacing of a portion of Jackson Avenue. The new pedestrian signal is a hybrid beacon, which stops road traffic only when a pedestrian is crossing.
This project also involved constructing new sidewalk on the east and west sides of Jackson Avenue and resurfacing pavement adjacent to the pedestrian crossing to correct severe cracking and rutting. New pavement markings and signage were also installed.
Lochgroup also prepared specifications, construction quantities and estimates, and documentation to assist the City with the bidding phase. Once the construction award was issued, Lochgroup provided full-time, on-site construction inspection and coordinated all issues that arose with City and MoDOT staff.
