ACEC Indiana recognized three of Lochmueller’s projects with Engineering Excellence Awards.
Merit Award Winner Cleveland Road’s one-mile-long reconstruction featured an opportunity for St. Joseph County and the design team to retrofit existing fracture-prone details present on the steel superstructure of St. Joseph Bridge 212, eliminating the need for costly additional inspections and addressed 5,500 feet of decaying concrete pavement through a total replacement of the roadway.
State Finalist the Broad Ripple Canal Esplanade, a10-foot-wide multi-use path, that follows the northern bank of the Central Canal from College Avenue to Guilford Avenue and links the Central Canal Tow Path to the Monon Trail. The Esplanade serves as an excellent example of using trails and green spaces to promote sustainable economic growth.
State Finalist US 41 Corridor Management Study determined how to accommodate economic development and growth along US 41 in Evansville. The study encompassed approximately 14 miles of US 41 and 25 primary intersections between County Road 1250 (Warrenton Road) and Walnut Street.
