Biography

Marsia serves as the Regional Director for Lochmueller’s Illinois and Missouri Operations. Her 30 years of experience includes the management and supervision of many high-profile environmental, geotechnical, and transportation projects throughout the Midwest. She has managed, conducted, directed, and supervised geotechnical reports, NEPA documents, project development reports, engineering design, construction engineering, material testing, eminent domain proceedings, public involvement plans, and maintenance and operation plans. Also, she has served as quality assurance officer for numerous multidisciplinary projects involving federal funds. Marsia has prepared over 40 environmental site assessment/investigation reports.

She started her exemplary career and spent eight years with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in Collinsville where she focused on construction and geotechnical engineering. She served on the field team that supervised the construction of the Clark Bridge, a cable-stayed structure in Alton. Marsia then entered private practice and elevated to the level of vice president at an engineering firm. She then co-founded the 100% women-owned engineering firm, providing contracting, geotechnical, and civil engineering services to clients in both public and private sectors. Through hard work, acquisitions, and company growth the firm grew from two employees to 45 in five years providing services in multiple facets of the engineering and construction industry. Some of the projects Marsia managde include the Illinois Approach to the Stan Musial Veterans Bridge over the Mississippi River, I-270 bridge over the Chain of Rocks canal, Illinois High Speed Rail, Murray Baker Bridge shortening of a cantilever truss, and the I 64 Rieder Road Interchange at Scott Air Force Base. After a brief sabbatical, her entrepreneurial spirit once again surfaced and she opened her own engineering firm serving as president and CEO, which subsequently was acquired by another firm.
