Lochmueller assisted Great Rivers Greenway with the design phase and construction administration of the Centennial Greenway Extension in St. Charles County, Missouri. The overall goal was to connect the communities of St. Charles and St. Peters to nearly 20 miles of trail networks and park systems in St. Charles and St. Louis Counties.

Lochmueller’s design included the proposed trail, installing new curb-and-gutter, utility coordination, pedestrian signal, storm sewers improvements, and wayfinding signage. This connection extends the existing Centennial Greenway from its current endpoint at Christy Drive and Old Highway 94 to Schaefer Park, Laurel Park, and the Spencer Creek Trail. People can now walk, ride a bike, or use a wheelchair on an accessible greenway from these locations to the KATY Trail and Creve Coeur Lake Park, and the City of St. Peters Rec-Plex.

As schedules, budgets, and personnel availability became dynamic during the pandemic and soon thereafter, Lochmueller was able to manage the uncertainty, or risk, that came along with those changes. By being proactive, Lochmueller’s team had the agility and discipline to continuously adapt to the changes throughout the project.
