The City of Urbana teamed with Champaign County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (CUMTD) to pursue a federally funded Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant for the upcoming Florida Avenue project, spanning from Wright Street to Hillcrest Street in Urbana, Illinois.

Lochmueller’s assistance included critical actions in support of the RAISE Grant submittal, in advance of preliminary engineering including:

  • Evaluate & summarize “Project Readiness” as associated with environmental risk
  • Develop a plan view conceptual layout of the corridor of sufficient detail to determine approximate right-of-way needs & to provide a detailed preliminary estimate of cost
  • Develop of a list of innovative technologies that could be implemented with the upgraded signal system along the corridor
  • Create a corridor-wide 3D graphic rendering model
